My Comic Inspiration

For my current project "Transplant" I was inspired by alot of things, here I will list and discuss some of the biggest inspirations for this comic.

Goosebumps was another series that inspired this story particularly the book /episode "My hairiest adventure" . The inspiration  came from the doctor  who turns dogs into human and I thought what if my character turns one human into another human but as a different persona. So I created Sophia Martinez who to the world a doctor but in reality she is a gypsy.  

Tales from the darkside is "Transplant's" biggest inspiration.  Each episode of this TV series depicts a short, strange tale...with a twist! The usual plot formula is comprised of an initial normal, mundane situation that gradually begins to get off-kilter, with suspense building up to the final, chilling, surprise conclusion. This formula is something I tried to work into my story, there was also a episode that really inspired the base of "Transplant" and that is episode 4 of season 4 titled "The Moth". This episode is about a dying woman who uses her last hours to plan for the afterlife, similar to my character Michelle Lotus.
