Sent Black Voyage to review
Sending to reviewers.
Getting a comic reviewed is one of the best ways to gather
if your work is great or utter rubbish, but finding places that will review your
stuff is hard. I fortunately prepared
for this day as during my time in third year on the social media art groups I
am part of I have been saving posts where they are looking or offering reviews.
This meant that when it came to sending out Black Voyage I had a pre-list of
sites that accept review submissions.
Below is a list of all the sites I have sent my comic to
looking for it to get reviewed.
A place to hang your
cape – I decided to send my comic to AP2HYC after the
review of transplant because this is the best chance to see if I have really
improved like I think I have. I sent the review copy on the 20th
April and on the 21st I got a response that they will review Black
Voyage. This is the same response I got last time so there may be a wait for
the review. However, I believe this will be worth it.
http://pipedreamcomics.co.uk - This site is dedicated to indie comics so is the
best place to send an indie comic for review. On their site page they have a
full section on what to do to get your comic reviewed. This includes reasons
why they will not review your stuff. As of writing (21st April)
there has been no response.

This is a site I found on another site dedicated to listing sites which
commence reviews. The site itself does not have a submission section so I have
sent the site owner an email inquiring. This site specialise in horror related
content. As of writing (21st April) there has been no response.
https://comicsverse.com/contact-comicsverse/ - This site is different from
the previous three as I did not have to send them the comic in an email. Instead
I had to fill out an submission form on their site. Like the previous sites
that cannot guarantee a review.

- I came across this site and reviewer thanks to Michael Gatti. I messaged him
on Facebook to see if he had any other sites he sent his comic too.
Outright Geekery
- Outright is the site I work for as a
reviewer. I messaged my editor Henry if it would be okay and he approved. I am
now guaranteed a review of Black Voyage as one of our team wanted to review it.
I used Outright as I work for them so it seemed like a no brainer not to ask
them to review my comic.
http://pencilandinkreviews.com/ - I
found this site because they followed me on twitter. They produce there review
in a podcast setting which is different to all the sites I have sent my comic
too. It would be cool if they reviewed my comic.
I am hopeful that at least one of these sites does review
Black Voyage as I am proud of this and want other people to feel the same way.
