Bolton Sci-fi comic fair

Yesterday I went to the Bolton comic fair as a artist to sell my work this was the second time I have sold my work. I was quite optimistic about this time as I had put alot of effort in promoting myself and my work however it did not go as planned as I didn't get great sale but what I did gain were some new fans of my work and the work of Covenant of Arcana comics which is always good. I also become a some-what mentor to some budding comic artists which is always good if I can pass my knowledge on to someone else.

What I learnt from this are a few things One of them is placement is everything, being placed in a viewed part of the room is key as if your hidden away in the corner like my table was you can miss out on the flow of people. If that does happen make sure you have something like a banner that stands out to grab their attention.

Another thing is that you get more visitors to your table if it is full of color, so try and have color in your prints that you sell.

one more thing I learnt is that your work targets the attendees tastes this can be done if the convention itself is themed like superheroes the attendees are going to be looking for superhero merch so offering them 80's sci-fi will be pointless.

I will use what I learnt here for when I go to MCM London on May the 27th I hope this will help you and to see anyone who reads this there.
