Future projects
Now that this year at university is over and summer begins we have been given a summer brief. The brief is that we have to come up with 6 ideas that we will pitch to peers and industry professionals. so from now to September I will be creating 6 potential comics ideas, now that is where you my blog viewers come in. I have drafted more that 6 ideas already and would like your help in finding out which ideas have the most promise and should be continued into the development process. Each week I will post the first draft synopsis of one of my comics (minus the ending) and I hope you then give me feed back. Here goes the first comic synopsis for the "Cipher Killer"
They then receive a phone call say the ciphers had been
decoded and they race to the suspects location, who is in a taxi outside the
airport, the suspect pulls out his gun and shoots the cabby in the back of the
head and leaves.

Cipher killer
A couple are at lover’s lane, at midnight, they’re getting frisky
when a man rises from the back seats and shoots the male in the back of the
head. The woman, Jane, is screaming in terror but there is no one else around.
The assailant point the gun towards her and says “run”, terrified for her life
she gets out of the car and runs in to the black void that was the outside.
Jane thought she was safe as it was too dark to see so he couldn’t find her she
thought, then she hears two gun shots she looks at her chest and sees the
bullet holes, she falls down and bleeds out from her wounds. The assailant the
gets out of the car and walks away.
Time skips 7 months to a police station where an officer is
putting the evidence from the lover’s lane murders in the unsolved section of
the evidence room. He returns to his desk to see his partner when he receives a
phone call from his desk. He answers and on the other end is a calm voiced male
that informs them of a recent murder that has been committed, before he hangs
up he tells them he killed them and the couple 7 months ago. The officer is
left startled and tells his partner that they may have a serial killer on their
hands.
They go to the crime scene and find a couple shot to death
inside their car they were both shot 9 times, they find no forensic evidence to
identify the killer or how both these murders were connected apart from the
phone call. They delve into the victim’s background to see if there was anyone
of interest when they find that one of the victims had a violent ex so they pay
her a visit.
The officers visit the suspect but they alibi out for the
recent murder and has no connection to the first murder. Just as they are
finished the morgue rings them up to tell them that she has received word that
one of the last victims survived and is in a stable condition to talk also she
tells them that she found something that needs to be seen, so they head to the
hospital first.
They get back to the station after an unsuccessful interview
to find a letter on their desks the pick them up but don’t open them instead
the walk to the ME’s office to see what she found. They locate her and she
shows them that on the latest body they was some kind of inscription, meanwhile
the other officer was opening the letter, he called the other over and says he
knows what the inscription means as he shows them the letter. It says that the
killing will stop if they can crack the cipher on the victims and on the piece
of paper with this letter.
The scene skips to later that night a young couple are out
relaxing on the grass, when a man dressed as a medieval executor walks up to
them before drawing a gun on them. They are both paralyzed as the male, being a psychology student, tries to reason with the man it seemed to work are they were
both engaged in conversation that he drops his gun. They both think they are
say from their assailant until he pulls out a large Bowie knife and stabs them
both seven times each. He picks up the gun and leaves the bodies.
The cops arrive at the scene and find the bodies, they also
find two more ciphers on the victims’ bodies. They sent them to their tech guy
who is trying to solve all four ciphers while the officers search the field for
clues, once again they come up empty with the evidence.
