As most of you know if you've followed this blog from the start that in my comic there will be ciphers and clues adding to the bigger mystery to my comic Transplant. Well this post tells you what inspired me to add this mystery element to my comic.

Gravity falls
Gravity falls is the biggest inspiration for me about using mysteries as the entire show is surrounded in mysteries. This show show has a main mystery who is the author of the journal but that's not the only mystery as at the end of each episode in season 2 they had a cipher that needed to be decoded to reveal a little quote that added to the episode or revealed a clue about a future episode.

It was these ciphers which that I wanted to use in my comic, the image above is what the ciphers look like decoded the type of cipher they used Vigenère cipher but where to put these ciphers and what to say?
Well when I was creating the comic there was a panel that was a cork-board with notes (like a detectives board) but as time went on I decided to take that panel out and make it a full page spread and that's where I will put my ciphers. The ciphers themselves will reveal information about the comic but also the other Covenant of Arcana and future comics.

| 11.22.63 by Stephen King was also another inspiration for the Mystery as this show gave me the the idea of having a single event that then has all these events that either lead or create the event that's what I was doing with my story overall not just the cipher page. As the main story is about a guy who begins to change into something he's not suppose to be however there is more happening behind the scenes to find out what come check us out at MCM London on 26th May 2016 |
